MediSmarts is a well-established and recognized radiation monitoring system that has been in intensive use by a large number of cyclotron facilities for more than 15 years. The modular system is comprised of three main components that interconnect within one communication network: detection units, data processing units and a dedicated control software. The software is used for data collection and assessment of the radiation status in real-time conditions as well as for historical analysis. The technological advancements in the system infrastructures over the years has challenged us to reassess the MediSmarts architecture and to match it to modern expectations and capabilities.

The new architecture – WebiSmarts – uses web technology and server communication tools for implementing cross-platform monitoring application. The WebiSmarts is stored on a server and can serve many clients by demand. The web server runs the site scripts, manipulates the database and activates the generic communication processes that are responsible for communicating with all the monitoring units on site.

GM-41 Monitoring Channel

GM-42 Monitoring Channel

Medismart Area and Stack Monitoring System

The GM-41 Area monitoring channel is used as part of the MediSmarts system to monitor and record radiation dose rate levels and accumulated dose in the high radiation areas (Cyclotron Bunkers and Hot Cells) of cyclotron sites and nuclear medical departments. The measuring range is between 1 µSv/h to 1 Sv/h (0.1 mR/h to 100 R/h).

The GM-42 Area monitoring channel is used as part of the MediSmarts system to monitor and record radiation dose rate levels and accumulated dose in populated areas of cyclotron sites and nuclear medical departments. The measuring range is between 0.1 µSv/h to 10 mSv/h (0.01 mR/h to 1R/h).

Rotem’s MediSmarts Area and Stack Monitoring System is a Comprehensive Radiation Monitoring System for Cyclotron facilities, Accelerators and Proton Therapy Centers.

With over 260 installed systems worldwide, This is the most respected and used radiation monitoring system available today.

The DRM-1D is a CsI(Tl) detector based, highly sensitive Area Monitor designed specifically to be used as a fixed monitor in areas where fluctuations in background levels are important.

The detector is mounted internally and provides a measuring range from 0.01 mSv/h to 100 mSv/h (0.001 mR/h to 10 mR/h )

The DRM-2 is a GM tube-based, wide range Area Monitor, including a Visual Display and Status LED’s. It is designed specifically to be used as a fixed monitor in varying dose rate using two very sensitive, auto switching GM tubes.

The detector is mounted internally and provides a measuring range from 0.1μSv/h to 10Sv/h (10uR/h to 1000R/h).

The DRM-2E is a GM tube-based, wide range Area Monitor, including a Visual Display and Status LED’s. It is designed specifically to be used as a fixed monitor in varying dose rate using two very sensitive, auto switching GM tubes.

The detector is mounted externally and provides a measuring range from 0.1μSv/h to 10Sv/h (10uR/h to 1000R/h).

PM-33 Detector

The PM-33 is a scintillation probe for detection of gamma radiation from 0 to 50,000 cps with a sensitivity of 4,500 CPS per uSv/h (137Cs)

The PM-33 can be used as an external detector to the RAM DA-2000 and when used in conjunction with the TeleMeter, become an extremely sensitive, Portable Environmental Monitor.

DRM-3000

Flowmeter Monitoring Channel

Integrated Monitoring Channel

The DRM-3000 Monitor is the latest innovative instrument designed to provide the best possible user experience in Area Monitoring today. The DRM-3000 supports three external detectors and one internal detector, with automatic identification from a wide range of external detectors up to 100 meters distant to the Monitor

The Flowmeter Monitoring Channel is used together with the PM-11 and GM-42 Exhaust Stack Monitoring channels. It measures the flow rate of the effluent and provides the necessary data to provide an accurate and real time report of released effluent in units of uCu/ml and Bq/ml.

The GM-42 Integrated Area Monitoring Channel is used as part of the MediSmarts system to monitor and record radiation dose rate levels and accumulated dose in clean rooms of cyclotron sites and nuclear medical departments. The measuring range is between 0.1 µSv/h to 10 mSv/h (0.01 mR/h to 1R/h).

The Integrated Area Monitoring Channel includes an internal Alarm with a Mute button.
